Oldenburg var under dansk herredømme i knap 100 år (1676-1773). Der blev slået mønter i en meget kort periode 1761-65 efter tysk regning men for den danske konge - mønterne samles intenst i Tyskland og priserne der er ofte højere end i Danmark, derfor ser man dem sjældent herhjemme.
