Møntsæt fra Den Kgl. Mønt indeholder årets mønter, præget i særlig høj kvalitet. På grund af tilstrækkelige lagre indeholder dette års møntsæt kun fem af de syv mønter i møntrækken samt 20-kr erindringsmønten, der blev udgivet i anledning af Dronning Margrethes 60 års fødselsdag d. 16 april 2000. Mønten har sammen motiv som 200 kr mønten i sølv, der blev udgivet i samme anledning.
Sættet for år 2000 er højest fremstillet i 28.000 eksemplarer.
